Another thing that I am certain all foreign barbarians living in Japan partake in at least once a week – rhubarb apple pie made with brown-rice crust.
That is unless their half-barbarian daughters get to it first…

An American guy with a wife and daughter trying to build a life in the Japan countryside – and share some of it along the way.
That looks delicious. What goes into the crust besides rice? It probably is healthier than our pie crust.
Still living the good life then.
A lot of interesting stuff here – I/we will be up there soon snowshoeing etc. Like the info for the less than le@al camping – that’s the way I like to do it. Will be checking out the ’round the back of the building’, and by the river spots.
Do you allow camping in your field with rhubarb and apple pie?
We allow camping, but no rubarb pie available until next year.
I’m sure club members would be interested in visiting … and would of course pay for room and board (or camp :-).
Also a possible hike or snowshoe/onsen as your knowledge of the area is good (can work out something for guide fee etc). Let me know if you are interested.
